Things go back to normal, in the short term. But as the years go on, the inhabitants become aware of some sinister events in the past that may have caused all of this. In this novel, the Player (a.k.a. the Supervisor, the Director, etc.) and his/her team travel to the past in order to stop these events and to fix the entire situation. To do this, they are required to get hold of a pyramid-shaped device which will reveal the secrets of the city, and will restore the original timeline. The Player has the duty to keep the timeline intact, because a disturbed future will mean that humanity may perish once again. Development On June 6, 2018, Frogster was acquired by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment as part of the former's acquisition of Avalanche Software. The acquisition included the Westwood Studios and Big Huge Games studios. Prior to the acquisition, Frogster had been developing the game at a fast pace, and was in the middle of the development phase. According to Frogster CEO Andrew Nesvadba, Frogster was in dire financial straits, but the acquisition would allow the studio to continue with production. The development team consisted of a mere 20 people. In late June, the team was brought under the supervision of the Westwood Studios. The game was announced during a press conference, which took place on September 19, 2018. It was also revealed that the game would be released on Steam on October 17. Reception Jin's Record earned an average score of 75/100 on Metacritic, indicating generally favorable reviews. Hardcore Gamer's David Nields rated the game a 7 out of 10, and complimented the "gorgeous 2.5D graphics and fluid animations", as well as the voice acting. Simon Parkin from Push Square, in his review, complimented the game for its "unexpectedly compelling" and "well-paced" story and "neatly linear" progression. He also praised the "diverse" voice acting, the "neat" animations, and the "playable" boss fights.
